Even through the next week, I didn't feel better at all. In fact, it was getting worse. All I could get down were Ritz crackers and Gatorade. I was losing weight, quickly. I was already pretty skinny (75 lbs at age ten) and tall (4'9").
We went to the doctor a few days later and he told us that I was constipated, dehydrated, and underweight by 15 pounds (I was down to 65 lbs). He told us to go get magnesium citrate and Gatorade (former for constipation, latter for dehydration), so, of course, we bought them hoping they'd work. I had the half the bottle the first day like I was supposed to. It made me go to the bathroom every half hour, sometimes even every fifteen minutes! It wasn't fun.
After I went through those two days, I kept praying that I would wake up with an appetite. My mom thought that my appetite would slowly come back (which was wrong) but it didn't seem to. I went to school for the last few days (it was nearing summer break), barely having anything to eat during the day. On the second-to-last (or so) day I had something kinda big, and it was because we had an ice cream party for math class. The ice cream did make my stomach feel a little uncomfortable, but I didn't have to leave early. My friends all wished me good luck, thinking that it was only temporary and would fix itself.
